The mission of the White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity through Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) is to strengthen the capacity of HBCUs to provide the highest-quality education, increase opportunities for these institutions to participate in and benefit from Federal programs, and ensure that HBCUs can continue to be engines of opportunity.

SBA is dedicated to increasing capital and ensuring small businesses have access to funding. - Government contracting
SBA works with federal agencies to award 23 percent of prime government contract dollars to eligible small businesses. It also offers counseling and help to small business contractors. - Research and development funding
Through a competitive awards-based program, SBIR and STTR enable small businesses to explore their technological potential and provide the incentive to profit from its commercialization. - Export trade assistance
SBA provides small businesses with the resources needed to expand into trading and exporting.
