Lincoln Fencing, Inc. of Epping is SBA’s New Hampshire 2025 Micro-Enterprise Business of the Year

Fencing the Future in the Granite State
Before founding Lincoln Fencing LLC in 2022, Bret Lincoln had over 30 years of experience as an executive in the restaurant industry and managed more than 120 restaurants across regions from Saint Louis to Miami. After the pandemic significantly impacted the hospitality industry, Bret shifted his focus to establish Lincoln Fencing with his nephew Ben. This marked a big change from hospitality to construction, combining his business management expertise with Ben’s fencing installation skills, resulting in the building of a thriving family-owned company.
Lincoln Fencing LLC has expanded from residential fencing to large-scale commercial projects over the past four years, making it a leading name in residential and commercial fencing installations across New England. Lincoln Fencing’s portfolio now includes installations for city water towers, schools, sports fields, parking garages, and county and state projects in Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire. The company’s success stems from the expertise of its founders and their dedication to growth, resiliency, and commitment to quality.
Nominator, Service Credit Union, is a key partner for Lincoln Fencing LLC, providing financial support that included an SBA Express Loan for working capital, which enabled the company to enhance productivity and expand operations.
“Service Credit Union is proud to partner with Bret Lincoln and Lincoln Fencing. Starting a company during the COVID pandemic and overcoming such obstacles as the rising costs of energy, insurance, supplies, and labor was quite a challenge. Not only did the company survive, but it thrived, growing its revenues each year through a commitment to honesty, operational efficiency, dependability, and superior workmanship. We look forward to an even greater relationship in the future,” said Service Credit Union, Chris Degenhardt, Sr. Manager, Commercial Lending.
Lincoln Fencing is committed to community service, partnering with organizations like Habitat for Humanity and Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Their motto,” American Born, American Made,” reflects their dedication to hard work, integrity, and community support. Looking ahead, the company anticipates significant financial growth while continuing to give back to its community.
“We are proud to recognize Bret Lincoln, owner of Lincoln Fencing, for his dedication and commitment to starting and growing a successful small business during a turbulent time, the COVID pandemic,” said Amy Bassett, NH SBA district director. “Small businesses are the pillars of our community, particularly the micro-businesses which create wealth and job opportunities for the owner and their employees. Small business owners are dedicated community members, and Bret’s company is no exception, generously supporting community projects to benefit those in need.”
The microenterprise category highlights small businesses with five or fewer employees, including owners, for their staying power, innovative products and services, and contributions to community projects.
