From Inspiration to Success: Goody Girl Flower Farm

Marina Goody runs a flower farm opened during the pandemic

Marina Goody, like millions of other business owners, had an entrepreneurial epiphany during the Pandemic. Faced with the loss of her corporate job, Marina took that as an opportunity to create her very own dream job.

The Goody Girl Flower Farm opened in May of 2021, originally with the intention of being a pesticide-free flower farm and teaching studio for floral arrangement workshops. However, the business has seen tremendous growth since its inception, expanding its offerings to include an event venue for up to forty-plus guests, wedding florist, photography venue, floral workshops, and custom floral arrangements. All of which helped increase business revenues 5-fold and supported Marina’s designation as the SBA Buffalo District Office’s 2024 Women Owned Small Business Entrepreneur of the Year award.

Marina explains her success is a combination of her passion and taking advantage of resources she found along the way. That includes assistance from both SBA Resource Partners, the Niagara Small Business Development Center and SCORE Buffalo Niagara.

Marina was as a guest presenter at the 2024 Buffalo Entrepreneurship Straight Talk Conference for the Workshop titled “We did it, You can Too.” She shared her experience and encouragement with other entrepreneurs like herself. “I have found that stepping outside my comfort zone and doing things that scared me has helped me to grow immensely in confidence and as a business owner.”

Just as her Goody Girl Flower Farm serves as an inspiration for creating memories and beauty, Marina herself serves as an inspiration for other women owned small businesses who may find themselves ready for the entrepreneurial journey.
