Following a successful career in bioscience research that resulted in over 50 research publications and a US patent, Dr. Rajan Natarajan switched gears and ventured into Public Service. Serving the State of Maryland through various roles, he introduced and implemented policies improving the environment for small businesses. Years later, inspired by the creativity, ingenuity and charitable work of entrepreneurs, he took the leap and started Global Alliant.

Global Alliant is an information technology consulting and software development firm, that turns business problems into innovative and cost-effective solutions. How? “By simply assigning the right people for the right solutions for the right price.” This straight-forward concept has led to Global’s remarkable success. In less than four years, Rajan added 60 employees and saw sales skyrocket.

Obtaining SBA’s 8(a) certification and taking advantage of SBA financing options along with state of Maryland small business certifications were key elements of Rajan’s business plan. These programs were instrumental in securing government contracts with National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Department of Human Services, among others, including a 5-year, multi-million-dollar contract with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

As an entrepreneur, Rajan now has the flexibility to fulfill his true passion of helping others, focusing his efforts on educational and leadership opportunities for America’s youth.
