Isabelle James

Isabelle James serves as SBA's Deputy Chief of Staff.

Prior to this role, she served as a Senior Advisor in the Office of the Administrator. She has provided leadership on key Administrator priorities, including the launch of the Restaurant Revitalization Fund, improving loan processing and customer service in the COVID EIDL program, managing the successful transfer of the VetCert program from the Department of Veterans Affairs to SBA, and the launch of the MySBA initiative, Administrator Guzman’s agency-wide initiative to improve customer experience and streamline access to SBA programs. 

Before joining SBA, Isabelle held a leadership position at Giffords, the gun violence prevention organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords and Senator Mark Kelly. 

She holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University.
