Event description
Numbers are the lifeblood of business, be it marketing, human resources, operations, research, or senior management. You need to know where you are, and perhaps more importantly, where you’re coming from and where you’re headed. Understanding these numbers typically requires more than sums and differences, you need to know trends, and finding them is the province of statistics. Fortunately, Excel has a robust suite of statistical tools to help you find your way.
This live, one-hour program will demonstrate and explain:
- The kinds of statistical analyses Excel can perform;
- How to use Excel functions generally, and its statistical functions in particular;
- How to organize your data to facilitate analysis with Excel’s statistical functions;
- Use of simple statistical functions, including AVERAGE, MAX, MIN, MODE and MEDIAN;
- Understanding variance and standard deviation and how to compute each in Excel;
- How to name data ranges and use those names in your statistical formulas.
This session will cover how to make statistical calculations. There will be a session on visual presentation of statistical and other data on May 7.
There will be plenty of time for questions, so come prepared.
