Event description
Our 2025 Symposium theme is “Shoot for the Moon!”
Keynote: Megan Bendtzen went from corporate Work Zombie to the Dr. of Fun when she walked away from a 25-year, Fortune 100 corporate career to bring new vitality to the world she left behind. As the Founder of “Funology,” Megan blends neuroscience and innovative game-based solutions to help professionals and entrepreneurs avoid burnout and rewire their brains for success – without sacrificing the things that matter.
There will be four workshops with some local favorites such as Tiffani Wilson and Ali Gorny with On Point Performance and Angie Lion with Black River Performance Management. Ann Swanson, SBDC Director, will talk about how small business can leverage innovation just as well as big corporations, and Rachel Hume with U.S. Bank will walk audiences through investing options and how to choose a financial planner.
The traditional pitch off competition will continue with teams of young women who are students from Idaho State University. They will pitch their business ideas live. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the young women before the pitch off and then vote to award prize money from the ISU Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (CEED). CEED and Dr. Jeff Street partner with us to bring this exciting experience to our Symposium.
Our popular speed networking event will evolve again! We try to make this session meaningful, and we will have smaller groups together to help keep noise down and interactions easy.
Our event sponsors support our mission to elevate local business women. Thank you to Premium Sponsor U.S. Bank; Gold Sponsors CEED and the ISU College of Business, ICCU, and Shoshone Bannock Casino Hotel; and Silver Sponsors 1 Hour Auto, SEICU, and Golds’ Gym/Sunsations.
