Event description

If you are a mid to late career professional considering a pivot into franchising, this workshop is for you!

We’ll cover a range of topics, including: • Franchise industry overview • Key industry players and incentives • Regulatory oversight • Top dozen concerns for franchisees • Franchise myths • Framework for weighing franchise benefits, costs, and risks • Ten key lessons • Private equity in franchising • Recommended reading Tim is a certified SCORE Mentor and former franchisee. Like many, he came into franchising after a long corporate career. Not knowing the franchise landscape, he made mistakes in his franchise search. Subsequently, he did a deep dive to better understand the scope and scale of franchising, incentives in the market, the trade-offs between emerging and mature brands, regulations, Franchise Disclosure Documents, the nature of Franchise Agreements, how to conduct due diligence, and other factors critical to a successful franchise search. He has developed a framework to help prospective franchisees think about how to weigh the benefits, costs, and risks associated with owning a franchise business.
