Event description

Join the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Technology Transitions for discussion of the Adoption Readiness Level (ARL) Framework. Technology commercialization is not only dependent on technical readiness. External market and societal factors can cause significant challenges to technology deployment. To drive down these deployment challenges, the Office of Technology Transitions developed the ARL framework in partnership with industry stakeholders. The ARL framework serves as a guide to nontechnical barriers that a technology may encounter on its commercialization journey. ARLs have been used by stakeholders across the commercialization spectrum—from technologists and incubators to researchers, thinktanks, investors, and project managers. This session will introduce Adoption Readiness Levels, demonstrate where and how they have been applied to accelerate commercialization, and offer an opportunity for Q&A with OTT’s ARL team.
