9am – 10:15am: Government Contracting 101
This in-person two-part workshop will be presented by an SBA Specialist who will discuss basic business fundamentals required to become a successful federal government contractor. The first session will provide an overview on how to determine if your business is ready to bid on federal contracts and how to conduct market research to determine if the federal government buys your product or service. Learn how to navigate government websites to capture relevant information.
10:15 – 11:30am: Small Business Certifications
The second session will discuss the purpose, eligibility criteria, and program benefits to be certified as an 8a, HUBZone, Women-Owned, and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned small business. You will learn recent programmatic changes and registration updates to establish and maintain compliance. Get to know local resources and partners available to assist you throughout the journey.
Location and Parking:
The SBA Hawaii District Office is located across the street from the Federal Building at 500 Ala Moana Blvd., Suite 1-306 (Tower 1, 3rd Floor) at Waterfront Plaza (fka Restaurant Row). Metered parking is available on the street and surface lots in surrounding blocks. With a nominal purchase, many Waterfront Plaza food merchants offer validation for up to 2-1/2 hours for parking at the Waterfront Plaza Parking Garage (with entrances on Pohukaina Street and South Street).
