TOMORROW: Biden Cabinet Member to Kick Off Women’s History Month in Denver as Part of Investing in America Tour

Administrator Guzman Will Visit Local Small Businesses, Participate in Roundtable with Women Entrepreneurs

WASHINGTON – On March 1-2, Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman, head of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the voice in President Biden’s Cabinet for America’s more than 33 million small businesses will travel to Denver, Colo., to kick off Women’s History Month and highlight how President Biden’s Investing in America Agenda is delivering for woman entrepreneurs.

Under the Biden-Harris Administration, the country has experienced a Small Business Boom, with a record 16.5 million new small business applications since President Biden took office – and this historic small business growth is being powered by women and people of color. Colorado alone has seen over 362,000 new business applications, and the state leads the nation with a 115% increase in applications year over year.

On Friday, March 1, Administrator Guzman will visit two woman-owned small businesses that provide services in traditionally male-dominated industries, then host an Investing in Women roundtable with women business owners to discuss how the SBA under the Biden-Harris Administration can continue bolstering female entrepreneurship.

On Saturday, March 2, Administrator Guzman will participate in a fireside chat on the state of Latina entrepreneurship at the Adelante Conference. The discussion will be moderated by Maria Gonzalez, Founder and CEO of Adelante.

Friday's events are open to members of the media who RSVP to rebecca.galanti@sba.gov. There will before availability prior to the start of the Investing in Women roundtable, which will be closed press after introductions.
