ATLANTA – The U.S. Small Business Administration is reminding private nonprofit organizations (PNPs) that Jan. 10 is the filing deadline for federal economic injury disaster loans for losses due to the March 3-4, 2023, severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, flooding, landslides, and mudslides.
PNPs located in the Kentucky counties of Adair, Allen, Anderson, Barren, Bourbon, Boyle, Breckinridge, Bullitt, Butler, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Casey, Christian, Clark, Clay, Clinton, Crittenden, Cumberland, Daviess, Edmonson, Estill, Fayette, Floyd, Franklin, Gallatin, Garrard, Grant, Graves, Grayson, Green, Hancock, Hardin, Harrison, Hart, Henderson, Henry, Hickman, Hopkins, Jackson, Jefferson, Jessamine, Johnson, LaRue, Laurel, Lee, Lincoln, Livingston, Logan, Lyon, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Martin, McCracken, McCreary, McLean, Meade, Menifee, Mercer, Metcalfe, Monroe, Muhlenberg, Nelson, Nicholas, Ohio, Owen, Owsley, Powell, Pulaski, Robertson, Rockcastle, Russell, Shelby, Simpson, Spencer, Taylor, Todd, Trigg, Trimble, Union, Warren, Washington, Wayne, Webster, Whitley, and Wolfe are eligible to apply.
Examples of eligible non-critical PNP organizations include, but are not limited to, food kitchens, homeless shelters, museums, libraries, community centers, schools and colleges.
The SBA offers federal Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) to help eligible non-critical PNP organizations meet their working capital needs such as ongoing operating expenses. Loan amounts can be up to $2 million with an interest rate of 2.375% and terms up to 30 years. EIDL assistance is available regardless of whether the organization suffered any physical property damage. The SBA sets loan amounts and terms based on each applicant’s financial condition.
To be considered for this assistance, PNPs need to apply by the deadline. Applicants may apply online and receive additional disaster assistance information at SBA.gov/disaster. Submit completed loan applications to SBA no later than Jan. 10, 2024.
