SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Associate Administrator Francisco Sánchez of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Disaster Recovery & Resilience announced today that SBA will close its Dededo Disaster Loan Outreach Center at 5 p.m. on Dec. 13.
“SBA opened the center to provide personalized assistance to Guam businesses and residents who were affected by Typhoon Mawar that occurred May 22 – 29. Until the Dededo center closes, SBA customer service representatives will continue to be available to meet with businesses and residents to answer their questions, explain SBA’s disaster loan program and close their approved disaster loans,” said Sánchez.
So far, SBA has approved 254 disaster business loans for $40,405,500 and 2,332 disaster loans for homeowners and renters for $209,470,000.
Businesses and residents can meet with SBA representatives on the days and times indicated below. No appointment is necessary.

Even though the deadline to apply for a loan for property damage has passed, small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofit organizations of any size still have until Feb. 28, 2024, to apply for an economic injury disaster loan to help meet working capital needs caused by the disaster. Economic injury assistance is available regardless of whether the business suffered any property damage. Business owners may apply online using SBA’s secure website at SBA.gov/disaster.
Interest rates are 4 percent for businesses and 2.375 percent for private nonprofit organizations with terms up to 30 years. Loan amounts and terms are set by SBA and are based on each applicant’s financial condition.
Interest does not begin to accrue until 12 months from the date of the first disaster loan disbursement. SBA disaster loan repayment begins 12 months from the date of the first disbursement.
