Readout of SBA Administrator Guzman’s Visit to Denver

During the latest stop on the Biden-Harris Latino Prosperity Tour, the Administrator visited with Denver-area entrepreneurs and participated in a roundtable discussion with Congresswoman Yadira Caraveo (CO-8)

DENVER – On Saturday, June 24, SBA Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman visited Denver to meet with local entrepreneurs and community leaders and participate in a roundtable discussion with Congresswoman Yadira Caraveo (CO-8) as part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s Latino Prosperity Tour. The Latino Prosperity Tour is a multi-city tour that engages communities on the micro- and macro-economic issues directly impacting Latinos.

In the morning, Administrator Guzman visited Tonantzin Casa de Cafe, a locally-owned coffee shop, followed by a tour of The NEWSED Zone Market Place business incubator, where she spoke with several business owners about their goals and challenges. Administrator Guzman then gave remarks at the Latinas Lead Power Summit, an annual conference celebrating Latina entrepreneurs and small business owners hosted by the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado.

To end the day, Administrator Guzman joined Congresswoman Yadira Caraveo (CO-08) in Commerce City for the next stop on the Biden-Harris Administration’s Latino Prosperity Tour, hosting a roundtable discussion with several local entrepreneurs and community leaders at Adelante Community Development. Topics of discussion included access to capital, business training programs, and equitable access to government contracts.

In 2022, the Biden-Harris Administration and the SBA delivered nearly 900 loans through its flagship 504 loan program to Hispanic-owned small businesses to a total of $747.6 million, along with 4,822 loans through its 7(a) Program totaling $1.84 billion, and 99 Community Advantage loans totaling nearly $18 million.
