President Biden Proclaims April 30-May 6 National Small Business Week

SBA Highlights Weeklong Celebration with Awards Ceremony in the Capital and Virtual Summit

WASHINGTON – As has been tradition for the past 60 years, the President of the United States has proclaimed a week of the year as National Small Business Week. This year’s NSBW is April 30-May 6.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 2023 National Small Business Week celebrations will officially commence with an in-person, two-day event and awards ceremony for honorees and guests, along with a virtual summit for online attendees. SBA Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman will kick off the national event on Sunday, April 30, addressing this year’s winners and guests during the award ceremony, educational sessions and networking events. National Small Business Week continues after the D.C. event, with Administrator Guzman hitting the road to visit St. Louis, Minneapolis, Phoenix, and Albuquerque for more workshops, training, small business visits, and local award ceremonies.

President Biden, in his proclamation declaring April 30-May 6, 2023 as National Small Business Week, states: "This week, we celebrate the backbone of our economy and the glue of our communities:  our small businesses, which help make our Nation strong."

“Small businesses are the heart and soul of America's economic engine and the realization of the American Dream for millions of entrepreneurs. National Small Business Week is an opportunity to loudly and proudly celebrate their achievements and the essential contributions they make to communities across the country," said SBA Administrator Isabella Guzman. "The Biden-Harris administration is committed to investing in America, and, at the SBA, that starts with providing critical supports for our entrepreneurs and small business owners. Since 2021, nearly 12 million Americans applied to start new businesses, with women and people of color doing so at the highest rate. The SBA is committed to creating a level playing field that gives these innovators and job creators the tools and opportunities they need to prosper.”

This year’s National Small Business Week virtual summit will offer free educational webinars, free business advice, and an opportunity to network with fellow business owners.

Registration is required. Individuals interested in the conference can register here.
