THIS FRIDAY: SBA Administrator Guzman Joining U.S. Rep. Andy Kim & Burlington County, N.J. Small Business Owners, Entrepreneurs & Community Leaders to Highlight Economic Recovery & Local American Rescue Plan Impact

SBA Chief & House Small Business Committee member will lead an economic recovery roundtable and visit a local business, sharing stories of perseverance, pivoting, and recovery by use of SBA programs, resources

WASHINGTON – On July 8, Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman, head of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the voice for America’s 32.5 million small businesses in President Biden’s Cabinet, will visit Marlton, N.J. to join Rep. Andy Kim (D-NJ) for a small business roundtable featuring small business owners, community leaders and entrepreneurs from the Burlington County area.

Administrator Guzman and Rep. Kim will highlight the positive impact that President Biden’s American Rescue Plan Act has had on local economies, engaging in a conversation with local small business owners, entrepreneurs, and local leaders at a Marlton, N.J. eatery.  The eatery kept workers employed and maintained operations by utilizing the SBA funding through the American Rescue Plan’s Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF), in addition to other SBA programs.

After the roundtable, Administrator Guzman and Rep. Kim will visit a local retailer to hear from its owner about how she used SBA resources to survive through the worst of the COVID pandemic, pivoting and continuing to sell clothing and clothing accessories. In NJ-3, retail trade and food services are among the top six industries and employ over 30,000 people or about a quarter of all small business employees in the district.
