WASHINGTON – The U.S. Small Business Administration and Visa will host the first-ever National Small Business Week Hackathon at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C. on April 27-29. App developers, business owners, ideas generators and local entrepreneurs will be challenged to mash up API's from the U.S. Government and Visa Developer Platform to build an app to help small business owners address financial responsibility and common financial challenges, such as access to capital, cash flow, business credit, efficient payment or payroll. Throughout the weekend, the SBA and Visa will host educational workshops and mentorship opportunities for the participants.
SBA Administrator Linda McMahon will be on hand to announce the winning entries on Sunday, April 29. The Hackathon will award a total prize pool of $24,000 to winners.
