SACRAMENTO, Calif. –

District Director Tim Jeffcoat of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Houston District Office announced today that SBA will close its Tomball Disaster Loan Outreach Center in Harris County at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14.

“SBA opened the center to provide personalized assistance to Texas businesses and residents who were affected by the severe storms and flooding that occurred May 22 – June 24, 2016. Until the center closes, SBA customer service representatives will continue to be available to meet with business owners and residents to answer all of their questions, explain SBA’s disaster loan program and close their approved disaster loans,” said Jeffcoat.

Business owners and residents may meet with SBA representatives on the days and times indicated below. No appointment is necessary.

“Although the deadline to apply for property damage loans has expired, small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private nonprofit organizations of any size may continue to apply for an Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) to help meet working capital needs caused by the disaster. EIDL assistance is available regardless of whether the business or nonprofit organization suffered any property damage,” Jeffcoat said.

The interest rate for these loans is 4 percent for businesses and 2.625 percent for private nonprofit organizations with terms up to 30 years. The deadline for small businesses to submit an EIDL application is March 11, 2017.
