This workshop is for any new or existing business owners who would like a better understanding of small business taxation on the federal, state and local levels in Tennessee. This workshop will be instructed by a licensed Certified Public Accountant and will permit workshop participants to ask questions and receive individual guidance.

  • Business Owner Tax Liability in Tennessee
  • Franchise & Excise Tax
  • Business Tax
  • Sales & Use Tax
  • Overview of less common taxes
  • Local (City and County) tax issues

 

Instructor: Rick Miller 

 

Rick Miller has worked as a business banker, financial consultant, credit specialist, sales coach, HR Professional, and marketing expert for the past 12 years. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Tennessee and has worked previously for Fifth Third Bank, Bank of America, Lipscomb University, and NewsChannel 5. Rick is proud to serve as a SCORE volunteer: “I enjoy volunteering and serving SCORE clients. It provides a terrific opportunity to assist growing companies and their owners develop their vision and execute on their business plans.”  Rick has a BA in Public Relations and Broadcast Journalism from Lipscomb University and an MBA from Middle Tennessee State.
