THIS WEEK: Biden Cabinet Member to Visit Alaska

SBA Administrator Guzman will visit Ketchikan, Anchorage, and Nome from Aug. 21-24, meeting with small business owners and celebrating the opening of a new Veterans Business Outreach Center

ANCHORAGE – This week, U.S Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman, the voice in President Biden’s Cabinet for America’s 33 million small businesses, will visit Alaska to highlight how President Biden’s Investing in America economic agenda has led to a historic small business boom, with 13.1 million new small business applications nationwide since the President took office, including over 20,400 in Alaska alone.          
         
From August 21 to August 24, SBA Administrator Guzman will meet local entrepreneurs and elected officials, tour various small businesses, and participate in roundtable discussions in Anchorage, Ketchikan and Nome. Notably, Administrator Guzman will join Senator Dan Sullivan for the Ketchikan Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Monday, August 21, followed by stops across Anchorage and Nome on August 22 and 23, respectively. Administrator Guzman’s visit to Alaska will culminate on Thursday, August 24, in Anchorage with a grand opening celebration for the SBA’s newest Veterans Business Outreach Center.
