Mankato, Minn. –  Local small business owners are invited to participate in a Small Business Saturday Coffee Kick-Off and news conference on Thursday, November 16 at 9:00 a.m. at the Small Business Development Center located in the MSU Strategic Partnership Center, 424 North Riverfront Drive, Suite 210, Mankato. Small Business Saturday, a national event that takes place November 25, is a day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for their communities.

At the Kick-Off event, local business owners will talk about their experiences in operating a small business and the importance of shopping local. Event hosts will share statistics about the impact of small businesses and present a Small Business Saturday proclamation. Attendees can pick up free Small Business Saturday marketing materials and information on local business resources.

As the holiday season begins, many business owners will find themselves in their busiest and most stressful time of the year. At this gathering, business owners get an opportunity to connect with each other, celebrate their contributions to the community, and find solutions to thrive throughout the holiday shopping season.

The Small Business Development Center, City Center Partnership, Old Town Association, and SCORE are hosting the event.
