NC 14911 - Over $35 Million Reasons to Apply for a Hurricane Matthew SBA Disaster Loan

–The U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has approved over $35 million in low-interest disaster loans for businesses and residents in North Carolina affected by Hurricane Matthew on Oct. 4 - 24, 2016.
“Currently, 1,001 disaster loans have been approved in the amount of $36,360,700 for affected survivors,” said Frank Skaggs, director of SBA’s Field Operations Center East in Atlanta.  “We are pleased to get these loans approved so residents in the disaster area can start to rebuild and resume their normal lives. I encourage anyone who has not submitted an SBA disaster loan application to do so before the deadline.”
The disaster declaration covers the counties of Anson, Beaufort, Bertie, Bladen, Brunswick, Camden, Carteret, Chatham, Chowan, Columbus, Craven, Cumberland, Currituck, Dare, Duplin, Edgecombe, Gates, Greene, Halifax, Harnett, Hertford, Hoke, Hyde, Johnston, Jones, Lee, Lenoir, Martin, Moore, Nash, Northampton, Onslow, Pasquotank, Pender, Perquimans, Pitt, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson, Scotland, Tyrrell, Wake, Washington, Wayne and Wilson in North Carolina, which are eligible for both Physical and Economic Injury Disaster Loans from the SBA.  Small businesses and most private nonprofit organizations in the following adjacent counties and independent cities are eligible to apply only for SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans:  Alamance, Durham, Franklin, Granville, Montgomery, New Hanover, Orange, Pamlico, Randolph, Stanly, Union and Warren in North Carolina; Chesterfield, Dillon, Horry and Marlboro in South Carolina; Brunswick, Chesapeake City, Greensville, Southampton, Suffolk City and Virginia Beach City in Virginia.
SBA disaster loans are available to businesses of all sizes, most private nonprofit organizations, homeowners and renters to cover uninsured losses from the disaster.  Interest rates are as low as 4 percent for businesses, 2.625 percent for private nonprofit organizations, and 1.563 percent for homeowners and renters.  Loan terms can be up to 30 years.
