WASHINGTON – Tomorrow, March 2, Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet, head of the U.S. Small Business Administration, Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor to the President, and Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez, Ranking Member of the House Small Business Committee will announce historic milestones for federal small business contracting and women-owned small businesses. The event will begin at 1:15pm at the National Press Club.
The announcement will focus on achievements by federal agencies with regard to their small business prime contracting goals for small businesses, women-owned small businesses (WOSBs), small disadvantaged businesses (SDBs), and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses (SDVOSBs).
Since taking office in 2009, President Obama has directed his Administration to focus on increasing small business contracting opportunities across the federal government with agencies that serve the needs of U.S. small businesses.
