Event description

Join us for an in-depth look at the roles and responsibilities of the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and the various types of audits conducted throughout the acquisition lifecycle. This presentation will provide an overview of DCAA’s audit process and highlight common communications contractors can expect during audits. While every audit is unique, small businesses often have similar questions about the process. Attendees will gain insights into the importance of adequate assertions, scheduling entrance and exit conferences, maintaining communication throughout the audit, and handling auditor site visits and information requests.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the role of the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and the types of audits it conducts throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Identify which audits are applicable at different stages and when they are performed.
  • Learn why DCAA conducts adequacy reviews on all submissions prior to starting an audit.
  • Explore the audit process and gain insight into what contractors can expect during an audit.
  • Review the four types of DCAA audit opinions and their significance for small businesses.

Target Audience: Small businesses in government contracting
