Birmingham CEO is taking Leadership and Business to the Next Level

National minority small business advocate and CEO Talibah Bayles

Talibah Bayles is a Birmingham, Alabama native, national minority small business advocate, and CEO of TMB Tax & Financial Services, a full-service bookkeeping and tax advisory firm established in 2018. Additionally, TMB Tax & Financial Services (TMB) assists financial institutions in funding bankable underserved Minority, Women, and Disadvantaged Enterprises.

Recognized as up and coming small business owner, Ms. Bayles was selected for the 2021 Small Business Administration (SBA) Emerging Leaders Initiative - Birmingham Cohort. The SBA Emerging Leaders Initiative is an intensive executive-level series intended to accelerate the growth of high-potential small businesses. The comprehensive curriculum provides the tools to catapult a business to the next level and help it emerge as a force in the local community. Ms. Bayles stated that “this was a real opportunity for me to work on my business… it allowed me to have an updated living strategic plan to help with off-line conversations on my business.”

Since graduating from SBA Emerging Leaders, TMB has experienced notable accomplishments that are due, in part, to the tools provided during Emerging Leaders sessions.  They have nearly doubled their monthly accounting & advisory clients from 30-40 to over 60 monthly clients, they have hired one part-time remote Bookkeeper & Senior Tax Specialists, and they are days away from launching a DIY Bookkeeping Bootcamp - an idea formed during the SBA Emerging Leaders sessions. Lastly, they are in the process of converting from an LLC to a Benefits Corporation. Ms. Bayles, with many other executives graduating each year from the Emerging Leaders program, continues to work on her business rather than just in it.
