Mark Ranneberger

Mark Ranneberger serves as the Senior Advisor to the Deputy Administrator.  

He comes to SBA from the State Department, where he served as Senior Advisor to the Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs. At the State Department, Ranneberger worked to advance commercial diplomacy and level the playing field for the U.S. private sector, including small businesses, around the world. 

Prior to joining the Biden-Harris Administration, Ranneberger worked with the communications and policy teams at Meta to counter COVID-19 misinformation and improve advertising policy transparency. He also served as National Press Secretary to now Senator John Hickenlooper and was an advisor to the Biden campaign’s Foreign Policy Working Group. Earlier in his career, Ranneberger worked in the private sector, holding positions at Deloitte, Uber, Edelman, and FWD.us. 

Mr. Ranneberger graduated from American University in Washington, DC, with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies.
